What personal data we collect

We collect only the data we need to run your account, keep the site safe and meet the duties placed on us as a licensed gambling operator. Most of it comes from you directly, when you register, deposit, play or contact us. Some of it is created automatically when you use the site, and some reaches us from the partners who help us confirm identity and process payments.

Account and contact details

When you register we ask for your name, date of birth, residential address, e-mail address, telephone number and the username and password you choose. We also keep the marketing preferences, deposit limits and other settings you apply in your account, together with a record of the messages you send us by e-mail or live chat.

Identity and age documents

Before you withdraw, and at other points where the law or our own checks require it, we ask for documents confirming who you are, how old you are and where you live. These are normally a photographic identity document, a document showing your address and, where a payment needs confirming, evidence of the method used. We keep the documents you send and the outcome of each check.

Transactions and play

We hold a record of your deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, wagers and balances, the payment methods linked to your account and the times you were logged in. This record allows us to settle disputes, answer questions about a payment and meet our anti-money-laundering duties.

Device and usage data

When you visit the site we receive your IP address, the approximate location derived from it, your device type, operating system, browser, language setting and the pages you open. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, covered in the cookies paragraph below.

Why we use your personal data

Every use of your data serves one of the purposes set out here. If we ever need to use your data for something new, we will tell you first and, where the law requires it, ask your permission.

  • To run your account. Registering you, logging you in, processing deposits and withdrawals, applying the limits you set and answering your questions by e-mail or live chat.
  • To verify age and identity. Confirming that you are 18 or over and that the details you gave us are correct, and carrying out source-of-funds checks where these are required.
  • To prevent fraud, money laundering and misuse. Monitoring accounts and transactions for signs of fraud, bonus abuse, duplicate accounts and other activity that breaks our terms.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory duties. Keeping the records a licensed operator must keep, co-operating with the authorities where the law requires it and supporting safer gambling, including self-exclusion.
  • To keep the site working. Looking at how the site is used so that pages load correctly, faults are found and the service works on the devices our players use.
  • To send offers you asked for. Sending promotional e-mails, messages or on-site offers where you have opted in, and stopping as soon as you opt out.

We do not sell your personal data. Where a decision about your account is made automatically, you can always ask for a person to look at the outcome.

Who we share your data with, and for how long we keep it

We share personal data only where it is needed for one of the purposes above. We do not pass your details to anyone for their own marketing.

  • Payment providers. The banks, card networks and payment services that handle your deposits and withdrawals receive the details needed to complete and confirm each transaction.
  • Identity-verification and fraud-prevention partners. Specialist providers check the details and documents you give us against their own records and tell us the outcome.
  • Technology and service providers. The companies that host the site, send our e-mails, run the live chat and supply the games act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
  • Regulators, the police and other authorities. We disclose data where the law, a court order or a licence condition requires it, and we are sometimes not permitted to tell you when this happens.
  • Professional advisers and successors. Our auditors and legal advisers, and any business that takes over the operation of the site, under the same duties of confidentiality.

Where data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we put in place the safeguards that UK data protection law requires before the transfer takes place.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for the period that gambling, anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting rules require. Identity documents and transaction records are held for the retention periods set in those rules rather than a period we choose for ourselves. Self-exclusion records are kept for the length of the exclusion and the period afterwards required of us. Where no legal duty applies, we delete the data or reduce it so that it no longer identifies you.

Your rights, cookies and how to reach us

Under UK GDPR you hold a number of rights over the personal data we hold about you.

  1. Access. Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how it is used.
  2. Correction. Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete. Some details, such as your name or date of birth, can be changed only once we have seen a document confirming the change.
  3. Erasure. Ask us to delete your data, which we will do unless a legal duty requires us to keep it.
  4. Restriction and objection. Ask us to pause our use of your data, or object to uses that rely on our legitimate interests.
  5. Portability. Ask for the data you gave us in a commonly used electronic format.
  6. Withdrawing consent. Turn marketing off at any time in your account settings or by e-mail.

To use any of these rights, write to support@casinothisisvegas.co.uk from the e-mail address registered to your account, or ask on live chat. We may need to confirm your identity before we act, and we answer within the time UK data protection law allows. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your settings, measure how the site is used and, where you allow it, show you offers that suit your play; the categories we use, how to accept or reject each one and how to change your choice later are set out in our Cookie Policy.

Safer gambling and your data

The site is for adults aged 18 or over only. The deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion tools in your account work by holding a record against your details, and we also handle data connected with GamStop. If you would like support, GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline offer free and confidential help.
